Massachusetts AI Hub Coming to the MGHPCC

December 23, 2024

Government, industry, and academia will partner with the Massachusetts Green High-Performance Computer Center in Holyoke to expand access to sustainable high-performance computing and data platforms necessary for AI innovation.

Reporting by Helen Hill for MGHPCC

Governor Maura Healey announced the launch of the Massachusetts AI Hub, an initiative to help cement our region as a global leader in applied AI innovation. The AI Hub will drive collaboration between government, industry, and academia across the region, boosting economic opportunities and addressing critical challenges.

A key component of the AI Hub is a public-private partnership with the Massachusetts Green High-Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC) in Holyoke, MA. In collaboration with its member universities (Boston University, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, UMass, and Yale) and the Commonwealth, the MGHPCC will provide essential sustainable high-performance computing and data resources necessary for AI research and development.
