MGHPCC Receives Top Energy-Efficient HPC Achievement Award

November 21, 2024

MGHPCC honored with the Readers’ Choice Award for Top Energy-Efficient HPC Achievement at the SC24 conference.

Reporting by Helen Hill for MGHPCC

We are thrilled to announce that the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC) has been honored with the Readers’ Choice Award for Top Energy-Efficient HPC Achievement at the SC24 conference, as announced by HPCWire.

The Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC), which achieved LEED Platinum Certification for sustainability after it opened in November 2012, houses multiple TOP500 systems for leading research institutions. The facility uses predominantly carbon-free energy sources, including local hydroelectric and solar power, and employs liquid cooling to further reduce its environmental impact for both its existing HPC installations and the future quantum computing complex that was recently announced.
