MGHPCC affiliates to share how lessons learned through the Massachusetts Open Cloud (MOC) initiative, are being leveraged to develop the New England Research Cloud (NERC.)
The Annual Conference of the NorthEast Regional Computing Program (NERCOMP) (a professional society for academic Information Technology professionals) in partnership with EDUCAUSE (a nonprofit association that seeks to bring together leaders in the higher education IT community from across the region) will take place March 14–16, 2022, in Providence, RI.
The meeting will include a discussion session “Reliable, Powerful, Supported Open-source Powering Research Computing Services” during which MOC stakeholders, Hugh Brock (Research Director, Red Hat Inc.), Wayne Gilmore (Director of Research Computing, Boston University), Tracy Schroeder (Vice President Information Services, Boston University) and Scott Yockel (University Research Computing Officer, Harvard University) will share how lessons learned in MOC. The panel will describe the foundational work done by the Massachusetts Open Cloud, and how it led to the creation of the New England Research Cloud, an ambitions
plan to take support for researchers and research computing to a new level.
